Example one: The Mushy Story

A past client of mine recently got engaged and decided that he was moving in with his fiance. He called me to ask about moving companies. I told him congratulations and asked about his beau. We talked for about 15 minutes as he described the woman of his dreams. How they met, what she did, who her parents where, how they fell in love etc etc. All one big-happy-mushy-love story with extra mush on top!! Well at the end of the conversation, me being a Realtor, I asked if she owned her own home? Of course she did...the girl is perfect, why wouldn't she right? Well my friend picked up what I laying down right away...WHAT WERE THEY GOING TO DO WITH TWO HOMES? He had not even considered what he was going to do with his property. Two weeks later we listed his house for sale and they lived happily ever after.

The ~Mushy~ End

Example two: The Sad Story
No one likes a sad story but the tragedy of the tale has a hero. I am grocery shopping one early Saturday morning at a local grocery store, in the small county that I grew up in. When I come across one of the members of my old church. It was a small rural church of about 300 listed members, though it felt like 25 sometimes. We knew each other! Anyways, my older church friend here was distraught. I re-introduced myself since it had been 15 years and he proceeded to tell me about his awful divorce. I will spare the details to protect my client and friend...but let's just say it was as bad as they get. At this point he and the ex were both living with friends, no one wanted to be near the house that they built together. Neither one wanted anything to do with the house and neither wanted to talk about dealing with it. Long story short, I was able to get them BOTH off of friend's couches and into their own homes. However, because they trusted me, I was able to list and sell their old home in 45 days. While I did not enjoy the painful divorce and watching it unfold, I did enjoy taking this huge burden off of their shoulders. It pays to be trusted. The ~Sad~ End

Example three: The surpirse story.

I currently have a couple friends who have their house on the market with me. They own a two bedroom cottage style ranch near a fantastic college in Richmond, Virginia. They have the cutest little 15 month old bab. The market is tough but the house is impeccably kept in great shape. The home is tastefully decorated and furnished. It shows like a dream! Well, today I received a call from Mr Seller, he informs me that the "need" to move has just taken a turn for the NOW. At first I was hesitant, well it takes time in this market blah blah blah. There are X amount homes in your area, which means if three houses sell every month it could take x months to sell..blah blah blah. [insert other standard Realtor jargon here] LANE!!!!, he screams...we are expecting ANOTHER baby!! Number two and we have a TWO bedroom home. We need to sell sell sell! I am currently working on a happy ending to this one. The ~Surprise~ End

The point here is, what is going on in other people's lives that might need my services? Call me, because I am here to help with love, emergencies and new babies. Your Realtor.
